Review and Application

As always, I come away with so much respect and love for Clara. I love Clara’s strong, real presence. She holds space for us to critically question what we believe and to back it up. I really love this because I want it in my training and teaching. I want to question things. It also keeps things interactive and engaging.

Description of each day

DAY 1 - Adjustments 101 & The Standing Series

Creating a safe space for our students and ourselves is the most important task we have as yoga teachers in a class.

We’ll start the weekend discussing different methods for asking for consent, the difference between adjustments and enhancements, how to move around the room with confidence and different ways we can remain grounded as we teach.

Next we’ll go over poses in the Standing Series. We will cover the poses in the sun salutations as well as the standing series: triangle, side angle, warrior 1 &2, revolved chair, lunge and more.

DAY 2* - Inversions & Backbends

Inversions and backbends can be powerful poses to teach us about ourselves. This workshop will break down the fundamentals of these poses along with how to assist your students confidently as they explore these bigger postures. We’ll also go over the floor series, how to adjust during the cool down.

If you have requests for particular poses, please let me know on your registration form.

Day 3* - Review and Application

We’ll spend the day going over all the adjustments and refining how we approach and come out of each of the assists.

*Saturday & Sunday will start with a 2 hour yoga practice so you can experience the hands on assists and how to build towards peak poses in a live class.

I really enjoyed the circle conversation after the break on Saturday, especially how you talked to us about difficult situations and how to come back to yourself during those challenging times. Taking our power back, the difference between leading and teaching. This talk was very beneficial for me. Very Inspiring.
— Katie Hurley/Hayes

Really inspiring and fun. I learned a lot from Clara and from other teachers. I learned so much about adjustment, about teaching in general, and about my own practice.
— Lucy

It was wonderful to work with Clara and be in a community with other seasoned and new teachers. It normalized my own apprehensions and inspired me to integrate some new techniques into my classes.
— Charley Murray-Young

I loved the prep class on Saturday for heart openers & inversions - it really prepped the body for all we got into. I walked away with confidence, positioning, ethics/etiquette, and gauging pressure.
